The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Hi de Hi Campers!  With Camp Bestival only 7 weeks away we thought it’s high time we unleashed the fancy dress theme for our inaugural knees up...

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party … with a twist!

Expect super-sized surrealism and magical mayhem as the Alice In Wonderland inspired Tea Party comes to life in Camp Bestival’s Magic Meadow on the Saturday afternoon.  Imagine fun around a gigantic table piled high with cakes, cream teas, bizarre bits and over-sized animals surrounded by a host of freaky characters designed by Josie da Bank playing suitably silly games, including wonky crochet and ‘goodmington’ (not ‘bad’), all while kazoo wizards Masters of the Kazooniverse supply the soundtrack. As ever fun is top of the agenda so get yourselves kitted out as your favourite Alice in Wonderland character or come as something unique or just as yourself and be part of the maddest tea party ever!

Of course our legendary Dressing Up Area will be on hand to help the adults get dolled up and lose their inhibitions and we’ll also have a separate Kid’s Dressing Up Area (& Catwalk) so the little’uns can get involved too!

Camp Bestival is all about bringing back the British Holiday Camp … Bestival style! A place where Hi de Hi camping capers meet the spirit of early festivals where musicians and story tellers roam the woodland glades, spreading love and merry cheer. Mix in entertainment of the highest order, splendid music including headliners Kate Nash, The Flaming Lips and Chuck Berry plus a host of Rob da Bank heritage heroes and hot new acts from Billy Bragg and Suzanne Vega to Black Kids, dan le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, Florence and the Machine and top DJs including Andrew Weatherall, DJ Yoda, Gilles Peterson, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve (aka Erol Alkan & Richard Norris) and many more… check the bottom of this message for the full list.

Mix in excellent facilities for the outdoor life and a generous sprinkle of Bestival magic and you'll get an idea of what to expect at the first ever Camp Bestival - a new weekend feast for other like minded souls - a place where magical moments will be shared between special people, creating memories that will last forever. All this plus the best facilities of any festival from hot showers with tea & toast while you wait, to custom furnished tipis and yurts to maintained barbeques, a massive kids area and our Bestival Bluecoats led by the mighty Cuban Brothers on hand 24 hours a day to cater for your every need!
