Fancy Dress
Bestival creative guru Josie da Bank has dreamt of a spectacular re-creation of Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the heart of Camp Bestival’s Magic Meadow on the Saturday afternoon. And when Josie dreams, magic always follows… a massive 20 foot long table will be piled high with cakes, cream teas, bizarre bits and oversized animals and surrounded by a host of freaky Alice in Wonderland characters playing a suitable silly array of games, including wonky crochet and goodmington, all while the Masters of the Kazooniverse supply the soundtrack.
So, get yourselves kitted out as your favourite Alice in Wonderland character… take your pick from The King, Queen or Knave of Hearts, The Hatter, The March Hare, The Cheshire Cat, Alice, The Mock Turtle, The White Rabbit and many more… and join in the fun!
Bestival’s legendary Dressing Up Area will be on hand to help the adults get dolled up and lose their inhibitions. It will be based in the Magic Meadow opposite the Come Dancing spiegeltent - cunningly disguised as a Medieval Castle - see if you can find it! With the usual moustache and eyelash bar, plus Pimp My Outfit - for a little sparkle to your favorite t-shirt - face painting and gorgeous themed tattoos and of course rouches of costumes and retro and beautiful clothes.
Camp Bestival will also have a separate Kid’s Dressing Up Area (& cat walk) so the little’uns can get involved too! Here you'll find loads of fun workshops, crown making, costume making, photobooth and face painting plus there will be a childrens' fancy dress parade on Sunday afternoon round the Garden field finishing with a grand finale on the insect stage hosted by Mike Cuban and the Lost and Found gang - everyone is a winner!
NB: It's always fun to get dressed up but it's no sweat if you don't wanna, it’s a strictly come as you are festival and we want you to feel relaxed and happy at all times.
